The Supreme Court decision on the Affordable Care Act

The Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. This means that efforts will move forward to implement healthcare reform legislation contained in the Act. For example, states will be required to set up healthcare exchanges by 2014 so more people can purchase health insurance.

The ruling does not change our direction at The Everett Clinic. We will continue to provide more value to patients by improving quality and lowering costs. We will stay focused on reducing the cost of care by 25% over the next five years to make healthcare more affordable for our patients.

It will take time to assess how this ruling will affect healthcare long term. However we don’t anticipate any change or disruption to patient care at The Everett Clinic for the foreseeable future. If you have questions about your coverage and whether it could change over time as a result of the Supreme Court ruling, please contact your health insurance company to find out if there are any expected changes to your benefits.
