What is a Hospitalist? A hospitalist is a board certified medical physician who specializes in caring for patients who are in the hospital.
If you are hospitalized, our hospitalists will work closely with one another and your physician to make sure your needs are met and you receive the highest quality of care.
During Your Hospital Stay
You will receive care from the hospitalist who is on call each day. You may see more than one hospitalist during your stay depending on the schedule.
Your hospitalist(s) will: • Visit you daily • Interpret and follow up on tests • Communicate with your family (when requested)

When you Leave the Hospital
After you are discharged, you will return to the care of your primary care physician. The hospitalist(s) will provide your physician with a written report of your hospitalization and discuss further treatment.
