National Amputation Foundation, Inc.

National. Founded 1919. Offers support, referrals and information to all amputees. 'Amp to Amp' program links individuals with others with similar amputations. Newsletter, information and referrals. Dues $25/yr. Donated medical equipment given to any person in need. Items must be picked up at the office. Scholarship program open to full-time college students who have a major limb amputation.

American Amputee Foundation, Inc.

Amputee Coalition of America

National. 240 affiliated groups. Mission is to reach out to people with limb loss and to empower them through education, support and advocacy. Maintains the National Limb Loss Information Center which is a comprehensive source of information for people living with limb differences. Offers referrals to ACA certified peer visitors. Publishes information packet on starting a support group and two magazines, 'inMotion' and 'First Step: A Guide for Adapting to Limb Loss.'
