Amber Doran, LICSW
"Through reflection, collaboration and willingness to be kind to oneself, change is possible."
I see my role as a collaborator working alongside people to assist them in exploring their current problems and breaking them down into more manageable parts. It's about helping people gain insight through reflection, and building tangible skills so that we are better prepared to handle situations as they arise. I am invested in creating a safe environment for adults and children to feel comfortable processing difficult life events and encouraging them to be kind to themselves as they discover the answers. Through that process, people can build upon their identified strengths and feel empowered to take ownership of what happens next in their life.
People have an extraordinary way of neglecting their mental health needs, due to a wide variety of reasons that have negatively impacted our society. I made the choice to serve a cause that reminds people of the value to care for their mental health and to actively work towards de-stigmatizing what it means to have a mental health disorder.
I am open to working with many types of patients who have an identified mental health concern. Often times primary care clinics are the gateway to first identifying a mental health issue, and I am happy to be a part of the process of determining next best steps.
Why The Everett Clinic?
Learning about The Everett Clinic's holistic approach to healthcare and their core value of doing what is right for each patient, solidified my decision to become part of the team. It's exciting to work for an organization who truly understands the whole you concept and embraces the approach of patient-centered care.
