Harold Dash, MD, a cardiologist with The Everett Clinic discusses coronary artery disease. Coronary artery disease is one of the most common medical concerns as people age. Depending on the patient, it may be best to continue with medication or a coronary stent procedure may be necessary. A coronary stent procedure involves an initial angiogram (an x-ray dye procedure to find the blockage) and the stent is placed at the end of the angiogram. The procedure is typically not painful and patients can return to work within a week.
