Dr. Hughes has a special interest in caring for children with non-malignant hematologic disease as well as those who have undergone therapy for cancer. She completed a fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to gain expertise in this specific subspecialty. Dr. Hughes is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.

- Non-malignant blood disorders or concerns
- Thalassemia trait
- A family history of abnormal clotting or bleeding
- Concerns for unusual bleeding (such as frequent or long nosebleeds and easy bruising)
- Anemia
