Hip Tightness – Mark Leek, DPT - Physical Therapy

Many people have tightness in their hips which causes the lower back to do most of the work. Dr. Leek says, “there’s a reason our butts are big, it’s because they’re supposed to support us.”  When we don’t stretch or strengthen our glute muscles we rely on our back muscles to do our heavy lifting. Tightness in the hips is the number one reason for lower back pain.
