Kent Hu, MD, MPH

Medical Director of Quality and Patient Safety


Kent Hu, MD, MPH, is an established and respected physician of over 20 years of hospital medicine experience. He is well regarded in Snohomish and King counties and was named a Top Doctor by Seattle Metropolitan magazine. He continues to practice as an Internal Medicine doctor at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett on The Everett Clinic’s Medical Hospitalist Team.

Dr. Hu received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Masters in Public Health from the University of Washington.

Dr. Hu has a longstanding passion and commitment to quality and patient safety. In 2010, he joined the administrative team to lead The Everett Clinic’s quality program. Since then, The Everett Clinic has been a leader in quality and patient safety in many areas, most notably for the CMS 5 Star Quality program and for The Everett Clinic's opioid safety program.

In addition to his medical practice and quality leadership, he represents The Everett Clinic locally in Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) & Washington State Medical Association (WSMA) state collaboratives and nationally at American Medical Group Association (AMGA).

Most recently, Dr. Hu took on the additional responsibility of Medical Director of Quality and Patient Safety for the Optum Pacific Northwest region. His leadership is now recognized across communities in Washington and Oregon.
