Everett Clinic, Papa offer help for seniors
April 19, 2021
The Everett Clinic, part of Optum, is partnering with Papa, a service that helps seniors living at home. Papa connects older adults and families with helpers called Papa Pals.
Papa plans to serve over 1,000 Everett Clinic UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members who might need help. The Papa Pals can help seniors use a computer, go to the store, prepare meals and more. They can also help those who are lonely.
Papa services
Papa Pals can help with several things, such as:
- Companionship: Papa Pals and seniors play board games, talk or just enjoy each other’s company. They can meet in person or by a mobile device.
- Transportation: Papa Pals can drive seniors to doctor visits, volunteer activities, work, stores and more. Or, they can just take them to the park for a change of scenery. They can even deliver food and medicines.
- Technology: Papa Pals help seniors use their cell phones, computers and tablets. They can also get them set up for virtual care visits. This kind of help makes it easier for seniors to stay connected to family and friends.
- Light chores: Papa Pals can help with jobs around the house, such as gardening, raking, shoveling snow or making meals.
The Everett Clinic will let you know if you are eligible for this service.
