Childhood immunizations are critical for the health of our communities. Thanks to our teammates’ commitment and hard work, The Everett Clinic is once again being recognized by the Washington State Department of Health for our immunization efforts.
The awards given to a dozen of our locations are part of Immunize WA, a program that recognizes clinics throughout the state that immunized 70 percent or higher of their child and adolescent patient populations.
“Immunizations promote health and protect patients from infectious illness. The World Health Organization estimates immunization prevents two to three million deaths a year worldwide,” said Dr. Yuan-Po Tu, MD. “Congratulations to our staff for continuing to set the standard for immunizations.”
Immunize WA is a partnership between public health, health plans, and other organizations that aims to:
- Increase immunization rates at the clinic level by using best practice tools and the Washington State Immunization Information System (IIS).
- Encourage clinics to measure their immunization rates so they know where they are doing well and areas to improve.
- Jointly develop and sponsor a provider immunization recognition program.
- Help Washington meet national goals for child and teen vaccines.
