On February 26, a patient presented at Silver Lake Clinic with viral symptoms that were non-specific. The individual was immediately masked and put into a private room, and had influenza, strep and blood tests performed. Health care personnel entering the room wore appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). The patient was stable and was discharged to home. The patient had been initially evaluated in another facility and samples from that evaluation were submitted to the CDC, which led to the diagnosis.
