Jayasri Iyer, MD
Dr. Jayasri Iyer earned her medical degree at the University of Washington where she completed her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency. Prior to her residency, Dr. Iyer worked as a researcher in Dr. Paul Nghiem's lab at the University of Washington, a world class reseach facility for Merkel cell carcinoma, an aggressive neuroendocrine skin cancer. She has authored 33 publications to date related to Merkel cell carcinoma covering the wide spectrum of causation and treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma.
Dr. Iyer received her medical degree in dermatology from Baroda Medical College where her main interests were tropical diseases, vitiligo and treating skin of color patients.
She has special interests in prevention, detection and management of skin cancers including those who are immune suppressed and those who are at an increased risk of skin cancer. These patients include those who have undergone solid organ or bone marrow transplants.
Dr. Iyer believes in holistic and sustained quality care of her patients based on a foundation of trust and communication. Her goal as your dermatologist is to not only treat your condition but also help you learn so you have the knowledge to make informed decisions on a sustained basis. She is committed to staying up to date on the latest research and developments in order to explore all possibilities for her patients.
