Sean McElhaney, MD
“My physician role is to not only treat a patient's medical condition, but also address its impact on them mentally and socially. Treating the whole patient.”
Being a family practice physician allows me the opportunity to care for the entire family; newborns through the elderly. I feel the long-term bond with patients, that being a family physician offers, provides a much deeper understanding of the patient s healthcare needs over the long term. I am a big believer in patient education. It helps patients get a better understanding of their conditions, treatments and expectations.
Patients need to be directly involved in their own healthcare; the more they understand, the better able they are to make decisions which can help them achieve and maintain their health goals. My practice philosophy is based on a doctor-patient partnership where trust is built by having free and open communication both ways.
Why The Everett Clinic?
I chose to practice at The Everett Clinic due to their primary focus of putting the patient first and foremost, all other things secondary. In addition, the work environment is very conducive to productivity, growth and interaction with coworkers that is enjoyable. Everyone seems to be out to help one another, with the same end result of doing what is right for the patients.
