The journey of a patient survey

Your feedback can help us improve our services.

Take our survey and make your voice heard

Are you pleased with the care you’re getting at The Everett Clinic? We want to know, so we send you a survey after every appointment with us. It’s a fast, easy way for you to give us honest feedback. And your name and health information are always kept private.

Surveys are important because they help us understand what’s working and what’s not. We read every patient survey and comment. Then we take action. Here’s how the survey process works.

After you send in your survey, a staff member in our quality improvement department reads it. Each comment is reviewed for safety concerns and put into one of three groups:

  • A good experience
  • Opportunities for growth
  • Suggestions about how we do things

Next, all comments are sent to our leadership team for review and follow up. They use survey results and comments to:

  • Recognize great work.
  • Help us improve our services.
  • Guide our staff and care providers.

Comments are also shared with our Patient Experience Board Subcommittee, which is made up of doctors, patients and staff from across The Everett Clinic. They focus on finding solutions to the issues identified in the surveys.

For example, earlier this year we started getting patient comments about our COVID-19 sanitization practices. These included:

“I noticed that no one wiped down the furniture in the waiting room. I believe sanitizing in a medical office during a pandemic should be out in the open. I want to see people sanitizing everything. That would have helped make me feel safer.”

“I'd feel more comfortable if the equipment were sanitized in front of me, rather than before I entered the room. That way I wouldn't wonder if it had already been cleaned.”

These comments made us realize that patients didn’t always see the extra steps we were taking to keep our clinics safe. As a result, we changed a few things. For example, we added signs to let patients know that surfaces had just been cleaned.

This is one of the many ways we use your input and that of others. So when you get a survey from us, please fill it out. We appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.
