Brett Schweizer, DO
“As a physician my responsibility is to take away the fear and confusion of medicine and give patients' options for their health care.”
I believe that the patient should have control over their healthcare. I make informed recommendations based on research, but it is up to my patients to follow through with them. My role as the physician is to provide up to date medical information to my patients and to inform them of their options in healthcare. We work together as a team to achieve the patient's goals for life.
- I will always respect your beliefs and wishes. I know I cannot make you do anything you don't want to.
- I want to help make your life healthier and happier. Let's work together to make this happen.
- I will always tell you to stop smoking. I want what is best for my patients. In medicine, there is often conflicting evidence on medications and diet, but with smoking, there isn't a dispute. It is bad for almost every part of your body.
- Narcotics have their place for short-term acute pain, but long-term use often has more problems than benefits.
Why The Everett Clinic?
I grew up in the Marysville area and want to give back to my community. I believe in The Everett Clinic's mission of putting patients first and doing what is right for each patient. Medicine should be about patient centered care and with The Everett Clinic, I feel this is possible. Our patients can access the specialists that they need, when they need them. With the electronic medical record system, we get instant feedback on labs and have an open line of communication with all the specialists and with patients through MyChart.
