“I partner with my patients to optimize health, fight disease and meet their healthcare goals.”
I feel I need to know my patients as people first so I can better understand where they are coming from. Then, we can work together towards mutual goals in order to optimize their health. I truly feel my role as a health care provider is to be an advisor and coach. I try to listen to each person, treat them with respect and give them the encouragement they need to make healthy choices. I have a son with Type I diabetes and this is a special area of expertise for me. I know what it s like to live day to day with diabetes which gives me a unique perspective. I did my graduate work on hypertension.
I have a certificate from the University of Washington in Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. This helps me to work with patients in conjunction with other modalities or providers such as their naturopath. I am board certified in both Adult Medicine and Family Practice. I see patients across the age spectrum from teens to centenarians. I have many years experience working with elders and end-of-life issues.
Why The Everett Clinic?
I chose to work at The Everett Clinic because we put people first here. I wanted to work for an organization which has systems in place to meet the complex needs of my patients. It is easy for my patients to access specialty care and I get instant feedback through our electronic medical record system. I appreciate that The Everett Clinic uses the LEAN model so that we reduce costs, which in turns saves our patients money. I also enjoy working where fun and laughter is appreciated.
