Can I be tan during the treatment?
You must make sure that you have not been exposed to the sun in the last two months with tanning or sunburn. Sun exposure increases the risk of blistering of the skin, pigment change and scarring. If you have a tan, you may not be eligible for laser treatment until your tan fades. In addition, patients with darkly pigmented skin are more difficult to treat and should have a test spot treated prior to undergoing treatment of an entire area.
How many treatments will I need?
On average, patients require 4-6 treatments 4-6 weeks apart, or until the desired outcome is achieved.
How long will the treatments take?
Treatment time depends on the size of the treatment area. Areas on the face such as the upper lip may only take 10-15 minutes, while the legs may take up to 30 minutes each. You can tailor the treatment sessions for the amount of time you have in your schedule, and how many areas you would like treated.
